BMW global sales of 10.6% in 2012

German carmaker BMW Group reported worldwide sales of 1,845,186 vehicles in 2012, sold by 10.6% compared to 1,668,982 units in 2011.

The company sold 181,571 vehicles in December 2012, sold 14.8% increase over the 158,125 units in the same month of 2011.

BMW board member Ian Robertson said that the company achieved its best sales results for the second year in a row and extended his lead in the premium segment.

“Our success is our attractive model range, the strength of our premium brands, as well as a strategy of balanced revenue can be allocated on every continent,” Robertson added.

“This year marks the beginning of a new era for the BMW Group, as we launch the all-electric BMW i3 at the end of the year.”

During 2012, the BMW brand sales rose by 11.6% to 1,540,085 units, on the sale of 1,380,384 units in 2011.

MINI for sale worldwide in December reached 28,751 units, which further allows the company sales over the year to 301,526 units, a 5.8% growth over the previous year.

BMW Group reported 31.6% and 11.9% increase in deliveries to customers in Asia and U.S. markets compared to the previous years.
